Albany - Stephen Jay Strosberg, 75, of Albany passed away peacefully on October 24, 2023.
Born on July 22,1948 in Albany NY to the late Louis and Florence (Gordon) Strosberg. He was a lifelong resident of Albany. He is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Eileen Dunn Strosberg.
Stephen graduated from Albany High School in 1966 and from Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 1971. His over 40-year career as a registered pharmacist started in his family’s neighborhood pharmacy, Delaware Pharmacy. Subsequently his career led him to Community Health Plan, Family Meds Pharmacy and Express Scripts. Over the course of his career, he was a preceptor to many pharmacy students.
In retirement Stephen worked part time at LL Bean for several years. He was a literacy volunteer at New Scotland Elementary School in Albany, a program he found very rewarding.
He served as a Board of Directors member and past Board president of Wakonda Family Campground in the Adirondacks.
Stephen loved spending quality time fishing, kayaking and all things outdoors with his family, at “Camp Grampi”creating lasting memories. He was an enthusiastic fan of whatever sport his grandsons were participating in. He enjoyed working in his garden and sharing his produce crop with family and friends. Stephen also enjoyed traveling to various places in the U.S. and abroad with Eileen.
In addition to his wife, Eileen, Stephen is survived by his children, Alissa Friedman and her husband, Ira of Fayetteville N.Y and Jason Strosberg and his partner Michelle Lax of North Greenbush. Doting Grampi to Dylan and Benjamin Friedman. Also survived by his brother Jeffrey (Marsha) Strosberg, his brother- in-laws Steven (Amy) Dunn and Irving Dunn as well as nephews, great nephews and supportive cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank the dedicated medical professionals who cared for Stephen as well as the compassionate staff at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday October 26th at 11:00 am at The Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Ave. in Albany. Burial will follow at Temple Israel Cemetery, 1620 Western Ave. in Guilderland.
Shiva will be held at the Strosberg residence on Thursday following the interment until 8:00 pm with Minyan services at 6:30 pm, Friday from 1:00 - 5:00 pm and Sunday from 1:00 -5:00 pm.
