Sylvia Winer

 
Sylvia Goodheim Winer, age 90 of Coburg Village in Rexford, NY died on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at the Schenectady Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. Born in Belmore, NY, Sylvia was the daughter of the late Lazarus and Tillie Linkoff Goodheim.  She had been employed by the Niskayuna High School in the guidance department. Sylvia was a longtime active member of Congregation Agudat Achim and had been President of their sisterhood at one time. She was also active with the catering program at the synagogue and did volunteer work at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center where she served as a board member,
 
 Sylvia is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Herbert Winer. Mother of Jeffrey Winer and his wife Elaine of Framingham, Massachusetts, Joel Winer and his wife Lisa of York, Pa and Larry Winer and his wife Sara of Sarasota, Florida.  Grandmother of Lee Winer, Ross Winer and his wife Kimberly, Matt Fingleton and his wife Nicole, Chris Fingleton, Megan Gemmell and her husband Ryan, Ellie Winer and Sophie Winer.  Great grandmother of Hayden Winer, Zoey Winer, Charlie Patricia Gemmell and Caroline Gemmell.
 
Services at the Mt. Ararat Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY on Tuesday, December 29th at 2:00 pm. Those wishing to remember Sylvia in a special way may make a memorial contribution to Congregation Agudat Achim, 2117 Union Street Schenectady, NY 12309, Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center, 180 Washington Avenue Extension, Albany, NY 12203 or a charity of your choice.  A virtual Shiva will be held on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7:00 pm.
