Synnöve A. Simon, 83, was called to be home with our Lord and Savior on Monday, November 3, 2025 in Loudonville, New York.
Synnöve was born March 25, 1942, in Stockholm, Sweden. She attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois and was a vibrant member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She worked as a speech therapist in the North Colonie School District for many years following her passion to help others. She was kind and caring, with a deep love for her children, grandchildren and friends. She had a heart for helping others, no matter who they were - family, friend or someone she just met. Synnöve enjoyed reading, traveling, visiting museums and art galleries in New York City, as well as attending Broadway plays. She spent many dedicated hours volunteering at the historic Rock Hall Museum in Lawrence, New York.
Synnöve was preceded in death by her husbands, Martin Michaelson and Robert Simon. She is survived by her son, Blake Decker (Kristine); her daughter, Kaari Stannard (Jeff); her stepson, Jonathan Simon (Daniella); and nine grandchildren.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, the Alzheimer's Foundation of America or any other charity to which The Lord draws your heart in memory of Synnöve.
Funeral services are being planned and will be announced in the Spring of 2026.
