Albany – Valentin Markov, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 27, 2024 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn. Born in Kharkov, USSR he is the son of the late David and Tauba Markov.
Valentin was an excellent cook, he even created a book of his best recipes for his family, that they will now cherish forever. He also loved history and wrote 7 books on the history of his hometown of Kharkov, USSR as well as the history of his family. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Valentin is survived by his wife, Asya Markova; his daughter, Yelena (Yuliy) Gaft; his granddaughter, Marina (Michael) Blandford; and his great-granddaughter, Evelyn Blandford.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Lev Barats for the extraordinary care he has given to Valentin through the years. They would also like to thank the St. Peter’s Hospital Doctors and Nurses in the E.R., 5th Floor and Hospice Inn for their kind and compassionate care given to Valentin in his final days.
Funeral services will be private to the family.
