Albany – Virginia “Connie” Dubins of Boca Raton, Florida and formerly of Albany, New York passed away on September 17, 2024 at home. She was born in Poughkeepsie, New York on October 26, 1925 to Wilbur and Marie Converse. She moved to Albany, New York in 1943 to attend nursing school, graduating in 1947 as an R.N. During WWII she had to assume the duties of many physicians who had been drafted overseas. For many years she continued her passion for nursing by working in a Boca Raton dermatology practice.
Connie was active in the Women’s Medical Auxiliary, Albany Academy for Girl’s Parents Group, Congregation Beth Emeth Sisterhood and Hadassah. She also participated in many other organizations. She loved traveling throughout the United States, Russia, Europe, The Far East, The Middle East, Israel and Africa. She was an avid reader, a New York Times weekly puzzle solver, canasta player and maintained a keen interest in medical and scientific advances.
Connie is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Dr. Lawrence) Perlmutter of Slingerlands, NY. She is also survived by six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and one nephew.
Connie was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Henry B. Dubins; her daughter, Dr. Linda (Dr. David Baer survives) Dubins; her sister, Patricia Zahn and long term companion of over twenty years Herman “Hy” Offenberg.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Sharon Tietgens, Dr. Samuel Volo, all the devoted caregivers and the Eddy Nursing staff for their wonderful care.

Funeral services were held privately at The Beth Emeth Cemetery.
