Albany – Vivian Susan Brown, 85, passed away peacefully in the company of family on Monday January 8, 2024 at The Daughters of Sarah Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Hartford, CT she is the daughter of the late Bernie and Emma Kamins.
Vivian worked as a teacher’s assistant in the Mamaroneck school district in lower Westchester, a job she cherished for many years until her retirement. Vivian enjoyed crossword puzzles and word games, reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends. She didn't enjoy learning Mah Jongg, muggy days, and eating oatmeal in anything other than a cookie.
Vivian is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Theodor ”Ted” Brown; her daughter, Jennifer (Matt) Cross; her sister Marjorie "Midge" (the late Dolph) Becker; her nephew and nieces, Jason Becker, Sarah Becker and Meri Sands and their families; her grandchildren, Jessica Brown, Katie Brown and Ben Cross; and her daughter-in-law Liz Brown. Vivian was predeceased by her son, Richard.

Funeral services for Vivian will be held graveside on Wednesday January 10th at 11:00 am at Temple Israel Cemetery, 1620 Western Ave. in Guilderland. Shivah will be held at Ted's home, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday and Monday from 1:00-9:00PM; Friday from 1:00-4:00PM; and Saturday from 6:00-9:00PM.
