Walter Silver, age 91 of Guilderland, New York died on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at the Grand of Guilderland Nursing Home. Walter attended Binghamton University which was then known as Harper College. He was a teacher at Linton High School and a Professor at Skidmore College. He taught social studies in both places. Walter’s hobbies included boating and anything outdoors. His personality traits include the fact that he was brilliant, curious, witty, compassionate, loyal, loving and above all a friend to all. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Walter is survived by his wife, Maxine, of 62 years, and his daughters, Andrea and Julie He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Abby, Ethan, Alex, Ari and Sam. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Frances Silver as well as his sister, Natalie Charnin.
Services at the Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue Albany on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at 12 noon. All are welcome to attend. Interment will follow services at the Beth Emeth Cemetery on Turner Lane in Loudonville, New York.
