Watervliet – Wendy Ann Moran, 72, passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital on Monday, January 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Born in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late Jerome and Dorothy Pershes.
Wendy graduated from Cedarhurst High School before earning her bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo and her master’s degree from Buffalo State College. She began her career teaching in the Buffalo area, later moving to the Capital Region with her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Moran. For more than three decades, she was an integral part of his pediatric dentistry practice, where her warmth and steady presence touched countless families.
Those who knew Wendy remember her as a woman with a heart of extraordinary generosity. Her kindness was unmistakable, and her empathy made others feel seen and understood. She volunteered with the “I’m Special” mental health program in North Colonie, offering support to elementary school children and going above and beyond for those with special needs. Her devotion to helping others was simply part of who she was.
Family was the center of Wendy’s world. She shared an especially close bond with her daughters and took immense joy in being “Grandma” to her six grandchildren. Some of her happiest moments were spent traveling with them—whether sailing on Royal Caribbean cruises or creating cherished memories at Walt Disney World.
Wendy is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jeffrey; her daughters, Lisa (David) Morlitz and Suzanne (Lonnie) Cohn; her beloved grandchildren, Caitlyn, Adam, Mackenzie, Samantha, Rebecca, and Alexandra; and her sister, Linda (the late Reggie).
Those wishing to honor Wendy’s memory may make contributions to The Food Pantries for the Capital District, a cause that reflects her lifelong commitment to caring for others.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 16th at 11:00 a.m. at Congregation Gates of Heaven, 852 Ashmore Ave., Schenectady. Burial will follow at The Gates of Heaven Cemetery on Watt St.
