Albany - William “Bill” Green, 103, of Albany, passed away peacefully on the evening of August 29, 2025. He was born on December 27, 1921 in Bolchefze, Poland to the late Moshe and Freida Green. After surviving The Holocaust, he emigrated to The United States in 1951. Bill lived a remarkable life of more than a century, filled with hard work, dedication, and love for his family. A master tailor by trade, he built and ran his own successful tailoring business, remaining active in his craft well into his late nineties. His skills, work ethic, and pride in his craft earned him respect from all who knew him.
Bill was well known and deeply respected throughout the Jewish community, remembered as a man of integrity, wisdom, and generosity of spirit. He was quick to offer advice, encouragement, and stories that reflected both his wit and his many years of experience. To his mishpacha—his beloved family—he was a guiding presence whose words and actions will continue to inspire generations to come.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Esther Green, and by his son, Herman Green. He is survived by his son, Joseph Green; grandchildren, Tamara (Stephen) Wrzesinski, Rebecca (Albert) Charhon, Sara (Christopher) Bonacquisti, Brian (Cara) Green, Daniel (Alissa) Green, Jonathan Green and Matthew (Zoe) Green; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Bill will be held on Tuesday September 2nd at 1:00 pm at Temple Israel, 600 New Scotland Ave. Albany, NY 12208. Burial will follow at Hebrew Tailor’s Cemetery in Guilderland.
