Albany - Wisley Junior Dupiche, 49, of Albany, New York, passed away on April 1, 2025, after a months-long battle with lymphoma. His family and friends are devastated by the loss of such a vibrant and joyful man.
Born on July 31, 1975, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Wisley immigrated to the United States as a teenager. He lived in New York City, North Carolina, and Boston before settling in the Albany area more than a decade ago. Known for his charismatic smile and ability to make everyone feel special, Wisley built a career in banking, serving numerous institutions across the Capital Region.
An enthusiastic fan of fútbol and American football, Wisley had a passion for photography, goofy comedies, TV sitcoms, The Godfather, and haggling for good deals. His joy for life was unmatched, and despite the hardships he faced, he always made time for those in need. A devout Christian, Wisley was a member of Life Church, and dedicated his life to serving others, often sharing his testimony. Before moving to Albany, he was very proud to serve as a volunteer firefighter at Niskayuna Fire District 1. In recent years, he and his wife Jackie deepened their commitment to social action through Congregation Beth Emeth, especially in their work at the Interfaith Soup Kitchen on Livingston Street, where they spent many joyful Sundays as crew chiefs preparing meals for those in need.
Wisley is survived by his beloved wife, Jacqueline Kagan Dupiche; his daughter, Kyra Davis, son-in-law Stefan Davis, and granddaughters Jensen and Parker, of Houston, Texas; and his son, Jonathan of Franklin, Massachusetts. The oldest of seven siblings, he leaves behind Patrick, Ernest, Johanne, Cindy, Junior, and Marie, who will cherish his memory forever. His parents, mother Delta Laguerre (who predeceased him), father Fritzner Dupiche and stepmother Marie Dupiche, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, were blessed by his life. He will be deeply missed by his many cousins, aunts, friends, nieces, nephews, including his godchildren, Sanayia and Clyve.
A service will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Levine Memorial Chapel, 649 Washington Avenue, Albany. Interment will follow at Beth Emeth Cemetery in Loudonville. Shiva will begin immediately after the burial at the Dupiche home and will continue until Friday evening. Contact the chapel for details. Flowers may be sent to the chapel. In honor of Wisley’s dedication to service, donations may be made to the Congregation Beth Emeth Social Action Fund to support the soup kitchen.
